The Ford Maverick 2022 is the latest addition to Ford pickup trucks. The Ford Maverick is a compact pickup truck produced by Ford automobiles in Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly, Mexico. After months of anticipating the pick-up, the blue oval monocoque chassis pick up was officially released to the world on June 8, 2021.
Ford put the maverick on sale in late 2021 for the 2022 model year. Let’s not forget that the word maverick has been used before in the 1970s for a compact car but when questioned in an interview, Ford explained that they thought the name Maverick would be appealing to young customers and not named after the compact car.
Ford Maverick 2022 comes to the segment to face the Hyundai Santa Cruz 2022, it’s biggest competitor that shares almost the same dimensions. This truck is the smallest of the blue oval family at 5 meters long and 1.7 meters high. 11 inches shorter and six inches shorter than the Ranger.
It was the smallest pickup produced by the company with a hybrid powertrain and a conventional turbo engine. The Compact pickup truck with 4-door pickup with Front-engine, front-wheel-drive and Front-engine, all-wheel-drive (2.0 turbo). The truck is related to the Ford Bronco Sport, Ford Escape, Ford Focus, Lincoln Corsair etc. The truck shared with Bronco Sport and Ford avoided a front wheel drive-based unibody platform.
The plans to present the pickup truck on ford’s C2 platform was announced with the pre production prototypes in which was the platform used to launch Ford focus. The Ford Maverick truck is for both north and South American auto markets.
The Ford Maverick is the smallest truck that overshadows the Escape and Bronco sport. The Maverick’s overall length outstretches its compact SUV stablemates while still falling short of the lone Ranger.
The truck is flexible, affordable and fun to drive. The Maverick truck breaks all stereotypes, it has a spacious interior and latest technology with its customization opportunities.
The Ford maverick which is priced at $19,955 is the most affordable truck and comes with issues which is bad news to buyers of Ford trucks. The truck has some problems that need to be fixed, the wheel for example has a crack problem.
The paintwork is another issue, there are traces of paint chips on the passenger side and the driver side area where the rear window meets with the bedliner. It should be noted that most cars produced now have these same issues even though the passenger and driver side looked perfectly fine.
