The Porsche Panamera is a great car. Its powertrain lineup includes V6, V8, and plug-in-hybrid options, and there are no bad apples in the bunch. Few cars this size can match the driving enjoyment the Panamera provides. It’s quick off the line and agile around turns, delivering a relaxing ride. The regal interior looks great, with plenty of passenger and cargo room and technology.

Porsche Panamera vs. Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan is Porsche’s electric car. Other than its electric powertrain and futuristic styling, the Taycan has a lot in common with its Panamera sibling. Both cars are designed to thrill with their incredible acceleration, dynamic handling, and soft ride quality. There are some advantages to the Panamera. The Panamera has a greater cargo area than the Taycan and has a lower learning curve.

Panamera Interior Quality

Every Porsche has a nice cabin, but the Panamera takes things to a whole other level. It’s quiet, elegant, and stylish, and the material quality is off the charts.

Panamera Cargo Space

Class rivals can’t match this Porsche for cargo room. Although the Panamera’s cargo space is slightly different between its three body styles (the lift back and sedan), all have the benefit of having a trunk compartment. There are approximately 18 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 50 cubic feet when these seats are folded. These numbers are lower in hybrid models, which have approximately 14 and 45 cubic feet, respectively.

Panamera Engine Performance

There is no shortage of powertrain options in the Panamera. The “weakling” of the bunch is a 325-horsepower twin-turbocharged V6, while the headliner is a 690-horsepower plug-in-hybrid setup consisting of a twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor. There’s another twin-turbo V6, two more twin-turbo V8s, and two more plug-in-hybrid options. Even with the base engine, this Porsche doesn’t dillydally when you punch the gas pedal, and you can go from 0 to 60 mph in about 5 seconds. The most powerful models can sprint to 60 mph in 3 seconds. It should also go without saying that Panameras have plenty of muscle for highway driving. Every Panamera’s powertrain has an eight-speed dual-clutch Porsche Doppelkupplung(PDK) automatic transmission. It is one of the most powerful gearboxes available, with quick and smooth gear changes.
